Second trip to Gdańsk and talent tournament.

Today we went on a trip to Gdańsk. We visited the European Solidarity Centre. We learnt about the communism in Poland between the December 1970 massacre till the 4th of June 1989,when the first democratic elections took place. Our guide Ola was a really nice person, and even though she was born in the 80s,  she could tell a lot about the famous events of the those days such as: the strike in the shipyard in August 1980, and that the Solidarity movement drew many heroes- the workers of the shipyard, who were brave enough to stand up to the communists. We were told about some strikes in the shipyard, the Workers' Defence Commitee or about the pope at the time, John Paul II. After that, we walked for half an hour for a lunch in the Yacht Club nearby. Later, in the afternoon, we visited the Hevelianum ,a science education center in Gdańsk. We saw some maths tricks, replicas of mortars and cannons. In the evening, in our hostel,we had the ' I've got talent' show .Kamil and Lukas won with a song about washing or more precisely, about not washing even when the soap is available.
